Today is Friday--which means Fragment Friday. I've been kind of a slacker with these because time gets away from me. But a very special book from a very wonderful author comes out soon, and I want to share a piece of it with all of you. Fragment Friday is hosted by James of Book Chic and it's where you read excerpts of your favorite books or what you are reading now. Hourglass by Myra McEntire

In twenty days this lovely book called Hourglass by Myra McEntire comes out into the world. I love this book. Here's a vlog I made that tells you all the reasons why. I recorded back in February so some things are no longer true.

1) This is not my first vlog review anymore.
2) This book comes out JUNE 14 now.
3) I did intentionally play that song at the beginning. Even though I didn't admit to it. I had a lot of coffee that day.
4) My bangs are no longer this awesome. :(

Emerson has always seen things that aren't really there, ghosts or figments of her imagination. She's never had an answer, a reason why they appear to her, but they do. When the visions start to ruin her life, a boy named Michael is hired by her brother to help her. Michael turns out to be part of a secret organization called Hourglass that deals with people like Emerson, and like himself. Emerson learns she isn't seeing ghosts--but time slips, moments of the past that appear in her timeline. And Michael, he sees time slips too--of the future. The two team up to solve a murder and prevent the horrible future from happening, they get more than they bargain for. This is a WONDERFUL story. It's the perfect blend of humor, mystery and romance. Toss in some time travel, strange twists and a kick butt main character, Hourglass is certain to entertain every reader! It's awesome yall. AWESOME. Go read it.

A Frenzy of Wicked Awesomeness: Day 1

I'm in my beloved city--New York! (er, Brooklyn currently) with Nikki and we decided to vlog our daily happenings during this little trip. I'm so excited for tomorrow. We've got some fun things in line--and we'll be picking up our BEA badges! I wish I could wrap all of you in a suitcase and bring you here with me. Aww..

2011 Titles!!

Dear 2011: You are going to rock! Why? Well...

Gail posted her books for 2011--the ones she's excited about. I copied.  Now, disclaimer...this took four hours b/c my computer is possessed. Finally, though, it worked--but sadly cut off my awesome ramble ending.

In this ending, I shamelessly plugged: Across the Universe by Beth Revis (again), Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins and The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab b/c I read and LOVED them. And then pleaded for Hourglass by Myra McEntire, Wildefire by Karsten Knight and A Touch Mortal by Leah Clifford. That was fun. I'm sad you missed that ending. Alas...

I hope you find some titles that you're excited about too! (Feel free to laugh, this is really random at some points.)

Thirteen Thursday with Alexandra Bracken

Today on Thirteen Thursday I have the lovely and talented (and fun!) Alex Bracken. She is the author of Brightly Woven which came out earlier this year with Egmont. This is one of my favorite books of this year and if you've not read it then you need to!

Vlog and random thoughts

I got to participate yesterday in a really cool Vlog. It's an author vs. blogger debate about what makes a good love interest. It was fun and I was delighted to be part of it! (Though in hindsight, i would've linked the book review blog and not this one. Whatever.)

Random thoughts

I swear, I never want to be that girl. You know, the one who complains. I have so many GOOD things happening. Writing is going well and should be finished in a few more chapters! I'm moving to a great city with lots of opportunity. I have great friends. I will get to make new friends soon. I have a job and a car and lots of books to keep me happy. Yet, today, this evening, has been one of those days.

Those days when I feel crazy. I'm preparing (trying to) for the big move and it's overwhelming. I woke up this morning with my left eye all watery, ew. That's been tremendous fun. I am ADD and emotional about everything else. Today is a day of unneeded doubting, second-guessing, wondering if I'm completely wasting my time, if I will ever have IT and complete indecisiveness.

It all started when I held in my hand two books and left with neither; and then all I wanted was season 2 of How I Met Your Mother, which I couldn't find anywhere in town, and instead almost bought "Remember Me" but couldn't because looking at the box made me have an emotional breakdown in the store with my mother. Oh, Rob Pattz. It's his fault. Always.... Sigh.

That's all my complaining. See? Not too bad. Am I alone world? Anyone else feel this way?

In other news. Boston. SO excited about that chapter.
